So, today was the last day of slack for me out at the Spur Arena though there are still a few more days of competition. It was the second day of team roping and steer wrestling. The next time I shoot anything like this again will be next week at the actual performances. My entire week revolved around what was going on at slack. That can be a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing in the sense that I know what I'm going to be doing for a majority of the day, that I'll basically be shooting and posting galleries for the web and I won't have to be rushed to get anything done. The downside is having to go out and shoot almost the exact same thing every day. I start to struggle with finding a new perspective and shooting locations. I probably could have used the iPhone again today, but I don't want to overuse it and have Hipstamatic photos to fall back on because I can't come up with any original photographs with the DSLR.
The month of February can get a little hectic, though, like this week, I'll basically be out at either the stock show or the rodeo at the fair grounds. The nice thing about shooting the stock show is that you can choose to cover a different breed of animal every day. And like I said in a previous post, the people out there are the nicest you'll meet. After Monday of next week it'll be all stock show, all the time. Hopefully I can catch up on some relaxation while in Lubbock this weekend.
